Pakistan actually got off to a great start and was up by as much as 6 points, but as the match drew towards the end India made couple of key stops. For Indian stopline it was Yadha Surkhpuria and Mangi Baggapind that step up to make big stops. Yadha made total of 5 stops and was declared the best stopper of the match. As for best raider, the title was shared by both Sandeep Surkhpuria for the Indian squad and Shafiq Christi on the Pakistan squad.

As with any other time these to powerhouse teams meet, the match wasn’t without controversy. As Shafiq Chrsiti pointed out in the post-game interviews that Indian umpires were rushing the Pakistani players and even warn them for being too slow to raid. Christi had some strong words for World Cup organizers, stating that if India wants a true and fair World Cup, there should be fair officiating. Christi evenly went as far as to say that Pakistan squad will boycott if officiating is not improved.

There was also women’s Kabaddi finals in which Indian women beat New Zeland for the second year in a row. There was much excepted of New Zealand woman, but at the end Indian team was much too strong technically. Annu Rani performed exceptional for team India and Motu for New Zealand raid fairly well/
